The project will transition MRT from a 250,000 move Reach Stacker operation to an 800,000 move, fully remote-controlled E-RTG terminal with L3 Automation, including the development of a new rail handling zone capable of processing 150,000 moves per year.
Seaport Group is responsible for the full end-to-end programme, including:
- Terminal layout and infrastructure design.
- Procurement management for E-RTGs, power infra, civil works steel structures, TOS, and other key equipment packages.
- Design and commissioning of Onshore Power Supply (OPS) and medium-voltage power distribution.
- Design and commissioning of reefer rack systems.
- Construction and commissioning coordination.
- Deployment of remote-controlled E-RTG cranes.
- Data networking, fibre infrastructure and control room integration.
- Terminal Operating System (TOS) configuration and operational integration.
This programme is a major step in MRT’s modernisation strategy, enabling safer, greener and more efficient operations — with electric handling equipment, reduced emissions, and a digital, centrally coordinated yard and rail system. Seaport Group provides ongoing programme leadership, ensuring the design, procurement, construction and go-live phases progress seamlessly and operational performance is sustained throughout the transition.
